The application of catheter ablation in a rare case with coughing‐induced supraventricular tachyarrhythmias
نویسندگان
چکیده
Coughing could induce symptomatic, frequent atrial premature contractions (APCs), and episodes of atrial tachycardia (AT) in a rare case. If multiple arrhythmic drugs therapy failed to control the symptoms, catheter ablation was an effective therapeutic option for abolishing such atrial tachyarrhythmias guided by the electroanatomic mapping systems.

A perspective on the role of catheter ablation in the management of tachyarrhythmias.
The first clinical application of a catheter ablation technique was to create complete atrioventricular (AV) block by the transcatheter delivery of a direct-current shock to the AV junction in patients with supraventricular tachycardia refractory to pharmacologic therapy.^'^ This was followed by attempts at catheter ablation of ventricular tachycardia (VT) foci, accessory pathways, and atrial t...

C atheter ablation for nonpharmacological management of pediatric patients with tachyarrhythmias has evolved during the past approximately 10 years. Direct-current energy ablation was initially used in some patients with drug-refractory, life-threatening tachyarrhythmias such as junctional ectopic-focus tachycardia and also for some children with left ventricular dysfunction due to incessant ta...

متن کاملTrials and travails of electrogram-guided ablation of chronic atrial fibrillation.
Catheter-based ablation has revolutionized arrhythmia management by offering the most definitive treatment for virtually all types of tachyarrhythmias. The reasons behind the success of ablation are many, but chief among them is the ability of the electrophysiologist to identify underlying mechanisms and to precisely localize and eliminate the tachycardia foci or circuits. Armed with many new t...
متن کاملRadiofrequency catheter ablation in drug refractory maternal supraventricular tachycardias in advanced pregnancy.
BACKGROUND Treatment of maternal tachyarrhythmias in pregnancy is a major clinical issue. Pharmacological treatment raises important concerns regarding partial efficacy and side effects. Radiofrequency ablation of arrhythmogenic substrate has rarely been performed during pregnancy because of the fetal risks related to x-ray exposure and potential fetomaternal procedural complications. CASES T...
